Mon 30th March - UPDATE!

READING BOOKS FROM OXFORD OWL

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all well and are staying safe. We are thinking of all our P3 children as we begin week 2 of our home learning. We miss all of you and wish we were looking at all your lovely wee faces in the classroom today.

As we were unable to send reading books home, we would like to point you in the direction of a fabulous reading resource from Oxford Owl. https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

You can choose books suitable to your child's reading level. Please register, it's completely free.

Initially you could select the reading age as 6-7 years. Then you could go up or down the age groups depending on how your child gets on. Every child is different, so experiment up and down the levels. If the book is too easy, move up. If your child is finding it difficult, move down. The ages are just a guide.

There is a large selection of book types, so make sure your child reads a range of genres.

Don't forget to ask questions as you read. There were suggested questions in the 'Primary 3 - What do I do?' handout.

As always and if time permits, we recommend you keep reading your own choice of books too.

Happy reading!

Take care and stay safe,

P3 teachers
